Privacy & Data Notice
Last updated 11 October 2026
Journiez is an event and community platform connecting attendees with organizers. This notice explains how Journiez handles information when you browse, create an account, join or organize events, use groups, discuss events, subscribe, or contact us.
Information we handle
- Account and sign-in: name or username, email address, account role, password authentication data, email verification status, and profile details you choose to add. Journiez uses email verification; never send us a password or one-time verification code by email.
- Event and community activity: registrations, selected ticket or price tier, attendance and confirmation status, event reviews, group memberships, discussions, reports, and content you submit.
- Payment-related records: subscription status and payment references handled through Razorpay; for direct event payments to an organizer, the transaction reference or proof you submit for the organizer to verify. Journiez does not ask for your UPI PIN, bank password, card PIN, or payment OTP.
- Organizer and referral details: event details, public organizer profile information, organizer UPI/payment instructions, referral activity, balances, and payout UPI details you provide.
- Member connections and messages: privacy choices, follow/chat request status, blocks, and messages sent through Journiez chat. These features require an active paid subscription or Founding Pass. Member profiles are private by default. If you opt in, other eligible members may find your name, account type and profile image; after you accept a follow request, you may also choose to share upcoming registered events, past confirmed registrations, and profile interests. Member discovery does not show your email address or phone number. Past registrations do not prove physical attendance because the platform does not currently record event check-ins.
- Technical and support information: messages you send to support, device/browser information, security and diagnostic logs, and essential cookies used to keep sign-in and site functions working.
Why we use it
We use information to create and secure accounts; verify email; operate event listings, registrations, subscriptions, groups, discussions, referrals and notifications; help organizers confirm registrations; respond to requests; prevent abuse and payment fraud; maintain records; and meet legal obligations. We use data for a purpose that is explained here or at the point it is collected.
When information is shared
When you register for an event, the organizer receives the information needed to administer that registration and verify payment, such as your name, contact details, ticket selection, and the transaction reference you submit. Organizers are responsible for the information they independently collect or control and must use it for legitimate event purposes and protect it.
Journiez uses service providers to operate the platform, including hosting, email delivery (currently Brevo), and subscription payments (Razorpay). They receive only information needed for their services and are subject to applicable contractual and legal safeguards. Event payments are made directly to the organizer; Journiez does not receive or hold those event-payment funds.
Retention and security
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain account and transaction records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and comply with law. We use reasonable safeguards for systems and information under Journiez’s control. No online service can promise that every incident will be prevented. If a security incident occurs, Journiez will take appropriate steps and make any notices or reports required by applicable law.
Your choices and requests
You can ask to access or correct account information, close your account, or raise a privacy concern by emailing connect@journiez.com. We may need to retain some records where the law requires it or where they are needed to complete a transaction, resolve a dispute, or protect the service. You can manage browser cookies in your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent sign-in or other features from working.
Children and event participation
Journiez accounts are intended for adults aged 18 or older. Where an event permits a minor to attend, a parent or legal guardian must manage the registration through the adult’s own account, provide any required consent, and check the event’s age and supervision requirements. Do not create an account for a child in the child’s own name.
Platform and organizer responsibilities
Journiez provides the platform and is responsible for information it handles in operating its own services, as required by law. Organizers may separately handle attendee information for their events. Journiez cannot control an organizer’s independently operated devices, records, or services. Responsibility for a particular data incident depends on the systems and data involved, who controlled them, and applicable law. Nothing in this notice removes Journiez’s legal obligations or your rights.
